Typically the morning of August 1st was cloudy and slightly rainy. Just before the eclipse was due to start it was dry but 100% cloud cover. Rather than setting up the scope I decided to fit the Astrosolar filter to my 200mm lens on the 40D, then if the cloud did clear I could get some images. The cloud did clear a bit during the last 10 minutes allowing me to get some images. I think the cloud adds a bit of interest to the images especially as the sun has no feature visible in white light at the moment.
